Music In the Library: Totally Tango with Classicopia

Music In the Library: Totally Tango with Classicopia In-Person

Join us in the New Books area for a sneak preview of Classicopia's Totally Tango concert!

CLASSICOPIA, the award-winning chamber music organization based in Hanover, will present a special program entitled TOTALLY TANGO featuring some fun arrangements of tangos for cello and piano by Villoldo, Gardel, Piazzolla, and more.

Cellist Diego Carneiro, who was born in Brazil and now lives in Ecuador where he conducts the Youth Orchestra of Ecuador that includes many refugees from Venezuela, will be the featured artist along with pianist and Artistic Director Daniel Weiser.  They will tell the story of Tango through its early years in the brothels of Buenos Aires at the turn of the century to the Golden Age of the 1920s and 1930s and to the present time where composers like Astor Piazzolla have brought this sultry musical style firmly into the concert hall.

This informal musical event is free and open to all! No advance registration required.
