Spring Writing Workshops: Using Improv Techniques to Foster Creativity In-Person / Online
Our spring writing workshops will take place in the Aldrich Room and on Zoom on Tuesday February 4, Wednesday March 4, and Wednesday April 1, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Attend any or all of them. Please contact Jared Jenisch at jared.jenisch@thehowe.org to reserve a spot. Attendance is limited to 12.
Learning about and playing with the cornerstone rule of improvisation (“Yes, And”), author and improvisation workshop facilitator Sloane Miller will address elements of storytelling through applied improv exercises that will turn you into a creative powerhouse, brimming with ideas. We will use improv exercises as our prompts and then write together silently. We won’t share what we write in the room; however we will explore how the exercises might help us in our writing moving forward. No improv or writing experience is needed, just a willingness to try something new, say yes, and dive in.
