Sherlock Holmes Club of the Upper Valley: Sherlock Holmes and the Unbreakable Cipher In-Person
In "The Adventure of the Dancing Men", Sherlock Holmes reveals that he is the author of a monograph describing 160 different ciphers, however the Canon is sadly lacking in examples of this expertise. However, due to recently discovered notes of Dr. John Watson, Lyman Hurd will recount how Sherlock Holmes demonstrates how to break the Vigenère cipher, nicknamed by the French, "le chiffre indéchiffrable".
