The Scam Landscape: Staying Safe In-Person / Online
Join the AARP NH Speakers Bureau and a representative of the Hanover Police Department for the program on protecting yourself from fraud. Scammers steal billions of dollars from unsuspecting consumers every year. The impact on victims and their families can be financially and emotionally devastating, especially for older Americans. This event, hosted by the AARP NH Speakers Bureau will help you to protect yourself and your loved ones. We’ll explore:
- Fraud Trends – Understanding how much fraud is out there and what it looks like.
- Changing the Narrative – How we talk about fraud matters – words matter.
- Prevention – Knowing and practicing prevention strategies to avoid becoming a target.
- Resources – How to access and share tools and resources about fraud detection and prevention, and where to go if you or someone you love has become a victim.
Following our presentations, you’ll hear from local police officers about current scams in your area as well as how to detect and report scams.
