The Appalachian Trail: Moose Mountain Hike In-Person
The Hanover Conservancy's Barry Matthews and the Appalachian Trail Conservancy's Hawk Metheny, along with Russ Hirschler from the Upper Valley Trails Alliance, will lead a guided walk along the Appalachian Trail and its side trails to the southern summit of Moose Mountain on Thursday, October 2, from 3-5PM. We'll cross privately protected land that has expanded the Appalachian Trail corridor, and enjoy views toward Goose Pond, Cardigan, Kearsarge, and beyond. The total distance of the moderately challenging hike will be approximately 4.5 miles, with around 1,000 ft of elevation gain. The hike will begin and end at the Conservancy's Headwaters Forest. Parking is available along the old Wolfeboro Road at 135 Three Mile Road. Please be mindful of neighbors' driveways when parking.
