Howe@snorth: Knitting Workshop

Howe@snorth: Knitting Workshop In-Person

Join us for Howe@snorth, a vibrant monthly collaboration with Howe librarians and Still North Books & Bar, bringing adults together for an evening of fun, conversation, and creativity! Hosted at Still North, each month offers a new experience — from book arts to literary trivia, book reviews to adult spelling bees, writing workshops, puzzle competitions and more! Happy Hour pricing on alcohol for participants.

Join Howe@snorth's January knitting workshop! This workshop is designed for folks who've never knit before or need a refresher on the base techniques, but folks with more experience are welcome!

What you'll learn:

Casting on

Base knit stitch

Base pearl stitch

Casting off

We'll provide materials and instructions to make a simple, useful, and machine washable washcloth, after which you'll have the skills to try out other patterns. You'll go home with needles, 100% cotton yarn, a finished (or almost finished) project, and a pattern/instruction booklet you can use again in the future.

We'll guide you through the initial start and then be able to assist individually as we go. There will be a pattern for folks who've never knit before and an alternative for those looking to learn a level 2 technique.
